Location
Apoka Safari lodge is located in the south-western sector of Kidepo Valley National Park. It is overlooking the Narus valley within the distant Kidepo valley wilderness. You drive a distance of 560km (11 hours) on road from Kampala to Apoka safari lodge, or use air transport.
The main building is wooden and open in all sides. The large squishy comfortable chairs are perfect to sink into while relaxing at the end of a long day’s game driving. You can relax as you have a drink and review the fabulous pictures you would have captured.
Accommodation
Apoka lodge has about 10 spacious cottages that are at a short distance from each other, having canvas walls incorporated with a rocky kapje with everlasting views of the savannah landscape. The rooms are well constructed with comfort in mind and adorned with beautiful pieces of art and craft. The rooms have a luxurious setting and private verandas arrangements offering plenty of space. Visitors at the lodge can relax and unwind while reading and taking a glass of wine or cup of coffee.
The big hand-hewn beds are provided with soft duvets draped with mosquito nets. There are also hand woolen carpets, extra-large towels and over-sized dressing gowns. At Apoka safari lode, you enjoy facilities as those in the city yet you are in the wilderness in a remote area.

Apoka Safari lodge offers incredible facilities in all the rooms starting from an en-suite bathroom with double sinks and also a huge tropical shower. Stepping outside a sheltered terrace is your own stone bathtub big enough to fit the whole family.
The pool
The swimming pool at the lodge carved of the big rock which is cool and refreshing and it makes you want to jump in and feel alive again given the hot nature of the park in most of the months. Farther more, the pool is the most loved part of the lodge as guests relax in the pool while having a view of the wilderness. The pool is large and carved into the nature rock which gives it a favorable temperature.
You can therefore relax at one of the rocks on the lodge premises as you view the wildlife with a pair of binoculars.
Dining and restaurant
The lodge has a dining area that offers delicious meals cooked and served by the in-house chef. The excellent restaurant will provide all kinds of meals upon prior booking. However much the lodge is in a remote and dry region, water and food supply is available to the guest who book with the lodge in advance.
At the dining area, you will enjoy meals while watching animals grazing on the abundant grasses and drinking from the watering holes nearby. Bush breakfasts, private romantic dinners and picnic lunches are set upon request.
The lodge also has small bar fully equipped with different kinds of wines and beer for guests. Usually guests take these drinks while relaxing at the pool in the evening after a long day driving in the wilderness. House drinks are part in your rooming price with the exception of premium brands.
