DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale National Park
On this day, you’ll be picked up by one of our professional driver/ tourist guides and officially begin the safari. You’ll drive through various towns and head to the western part of Uganda to Kibale Forest National park.
You will stop over in Fort Portal were you will have lunch before heading to the park. On arrival at your lodge, you may opt for an evening nature walk with a ranger guide, in the forest to see a number of nature features. The nature walk will give you a closer encounter with the natural diversity of the park, from the big trees, flowers and vegetation, to the butterflies and several monkey species such as the red Colobus, Olive baboons and L’Hoest monkeys plus several birds. After you will head back to your lodge for an overnight relaxation as we await the more thrilling chimpanzee tracking expedition the following day.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk
We shall have early morning breakfast and head straight the headquarters for the briefing from the guides as you start on the chimpanzee tracking expedition by 7:30 am. You will head into the forest and look for these intelligent creatures that share over 90% DNA with humans, which makes them very intelligent and behave almost like humans.
Meeting these animals will depend on the last nesting location of the previous night, and when you reach them you will be limited to one hour with them and continue with the adventure as you discover more of the secrets of the park. You will also view other primates especially monkeys floating in the trees and several bird species.
You may have packed lunch or transfer back to the lodge to have lunch and relax a bit as you wait for the evening activity.
Later in the afternoon you will head to the southern part of Kibale national park for an amazing birding experience.
Bigodi swamp is located just 6km from Kanyanchu visitors center and it is such a fascinating area where you can find over 200 bird species including the famous shoebill which may be seen during guided walks along the boardwalk trail and viewing other various primates. The Swamp Walk is a 5-km, three-hour tour through this protected forest on the outskirts of Bigodi Trading Center. Later you’ll head back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Evening Game Drive
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast at your lodge, you will then continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth N.P. is Uganda’s second-largest park, located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most visited national park in Uganda with thousands of hippos that populate shorelines of Kazinga Channel and other animals like the gazelles, big herds of buffaloes, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, warthogs and waterbucks, elephants, and keep your eyes peeled for a leopard lazing in the sunshine. In the late afternoon, an optional game drive may be done!

Day 4 : Experiential Lion and leopard tracking, and afternoon boat cruise.
On this day, after your breakfast, you will head out to the Northern section of the park “Kasenyi planes”. While there, you will interface with the predators under the guidance of a ranger guide and researchers who drive around the park with radiation trackers. These trackers help them to find lions that have radio collars placed around their necks. The lion tracking experience takes about 3 hours and later on, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.
After this game drive, you will proceed to the to Mweya peninsular at Kazinga channel where you will have more of the beautiful wildlife. A boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel will offer you one of the greatest wildlife experiences in Africa and Uganda in particular. Prepare to see countless hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, water birds and many of the other park animals drinking from the channel. You will return to the lodge with a short evening game drive as you end your day with a sunset view while resting at your accommodation.

Day 5 : Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions.
After breakfast, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park passing through Ishasha sector, in the southern sector of the park, with higher chances of spotting tree climbing lions and other different wildlife species such Topis, kobs and others.
Ishasha is one of only two places in Africa where you can see tree-climbing lions together with Lake Manyara in Tanzania and they spend almost the whole day in tree branches resting from a day hunt and also escaping from the hot ground during the dry season.
Upon arrival in Bwindi, you will check in at your lodge for relaxation and overnight stay as you wait for Gorilla tracking the following day.

Day 6: Gorilla tracking and transfer to lake Bunyonyi.
After an early morning breakfast at around 6am, you will head to the starting point and have a briefing from the ranger guides, after there after you will begin your adventure as you get into the forest to trekking. The beauty of this rainforest is spectacular and it offers a dramatic steeply forested landscape which is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists.
You will look for these endangered species and finding them will depending on the last nesting location of the previous night. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will be allowed only one hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting and one in a life experience to be long savored.
You will have parked lunch and have it at a resting point after your gorilla trekking experience. Later return to your lodge, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale for relaxation. On arrival at Lake Bunyonyi, you may have a short nature walk/ hike or canoeing in the afternoon, or decide to relax at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of (2,200 – 2,478m). Lake Bunyonyi is located in south-western Uganda and it’s known to be the deepest lake in Uganda and second deepest in Africa. It’s called Bunyonyi because of the many little birds that reside there and visitors can’t miss out on the whispers of these birds every early morning. Its beauty attracts millions to come have a boat cruise through the 29 islands found on the lake, with the famous punishment island. It is also free from crocodiles, hippos and bilharzia, making it suitable and safe for swimming lovers.

Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport and Fly to Nairobi.
On this day, you will have a relaxed breakfast at your lodge and drive through the hills of Kabale as you live this beautiful part of the world heading to Entebbe International Airport. You will have a stop over in Mbarara for lunch and also stop over at the Equator line that separates the earth into two different parts i.e, the North and Southern hemisphere.
You will take some pictures and buy some souvenirs, then finally drive straight to Entebbe International Airport where you will have an evening flight to Nairobi in Kenya.
On arrival in Kenya, you will be transferred to your hotel for rest as you wait for your day one in Kenya.

Day 8: Visit the Nairobi Elephant Orphanage
On your first day in Kenya, you will drive to The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is world-renowned for its work rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned baby elephants.
During your visit there, you will watch the elephants’ midday feed and mud bath. One of the elephant keepers will introduce you to each of the elephants. The elephants come out in two groups. Firstly, the youngest elephants will come out for their bottle and playtime. Then, the older elephant orphans will come out. If an elephant walks past you, you are allowed to gently touch it. Although, you will soon realise your hand will turn brown from the dust they like to play in.
If you plan to adopt an elephant at the end, pay attention to the names of each elephant. You may notice a particularly playful elephant, so listen out for its name “Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage adoption booklet” If you adopt an elephant while at the orphanage, you will get your information booklet, adoption certificate, and printed oil painting by Angela Sheldrick.
You will also get an explanation of the Elephant and Rhino Projects, plus you will hear the individual elephant’s rescue stories.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
On this day, you will be picked up by our safari guide and transfer to Lake Nakuru where you will spend you first night. On arrival in the park, you will reach by lucnh time, check in at the lodge and have lunch, then head out for game viewing.
While there, you will get to see various wide-open grass plains and scattered acacia bush that play host to a wide variety of wildlife including the endangered black rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes, and a diverse birdlife with over 400 species. The rooftop of the car will be open for great views and photography. Afterwards, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
On this day, you will have breakfast early morning and depart for southwards along the Great Rift Valley’s floor.
Then we shall have a pit stop at the View Point for a breath-taking view of the rift valley. While there, you will take photographs and buy souvenirs. Later proceed to the park and arrive at the tented camp in time for lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara Game Reserve.
While on your game drive, open your eyes to see a number of wildlife like the Big Five game animals such as lions, leopards, black rhinos, buffaloes and elephants. Also expect to see some cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, as well as the wildebeests.
Wildebeests are famous for their yearly 8th Wonder of the World that happens in July – August which is called the Great Wildebeests Migration. There are also diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded to be at your exposal.
Later you will return to the lodge for dinner and an evening of relaxation as you feel the greatness of the wild.

Day 11: Full day Game drives in Masai Mara National Reserve
Our morning and afternoon game drives take us in search of Africa’s Big Five as well as the diverse wildlife that inhabits this vast Kenyan game reserve. More to that, the Mara presents spectacular orange-tinged sunsets that are worth photographing on clear days.
Moreover, the Masai Mara is home to a diverse range of animals. For instance; Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, gray jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeests, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos can be present in large groups. Occasionally, lions may be seen either basking in the sun after a large meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. On the other hand, Leopards and cheetahs are more difficult to spot, but they are fairly common.
The annual wildebeest exodus, known as the Great Migration, occurs in July and August. Furthermore, millions of these grazers migrate north from the Serengeti in search of greener pastures, before returning south in October. After the adventure, we shall return to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Cross from Masai Mara to Serengeti National park in Tanzania.
After breakfast at your camp in the morning, we shall check out with a packed lunch from your camp. Afterwards, a three-hour drive takes you to the Tanzanian border at Isebania. You will arrive at the border at about 10:45 a.m. More to that, it will take 45 minutes or more to process your visa and move into Tanzania. Afterwards, you will travel to the Serengeti.
Arrive late in the afternoon at our lodge, we will have en-route game drive as soon as we enter the park till we reach our lodge. Dinner and overnight at our lodge.

Day 13: Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park
Breakfast is served in the early morning at your lodge. After tea, depart with a packed lunch for a full day of game viewing. The Serengeti National Park is without a doubt Tanzania’s most beautiful national park. In addition, throughout the year, you can see huge herds of buffalo, elephants, and giraffes as well as millions of antelopes such as elands, Topis, impalas, kongonis, and Grant’s gazelles, and many more. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to see the three big cats quickly.
Interestingly, lions are often seen celebrating a kill or sleeping. If you’re fortunate, you could see cheetahs in the Southeastern plains. Conversely, leopards rest in the giant trees.
Return to our lodge later in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 14. Transfer to Ngorongoro, elephants caves and Olmoti waterfalls.
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to ngorongoro and visit the elephant caves together with the Olmoti water falls. You will have a view of the hundreds of elephants that are found in the area, and have a moment to learn more about them.
Olmoti crater (munge) water falls are located on the eastern rim of Olmoti crater, visible from a few points, while on the road from Ngorongoro crater of northern Tanzania. They also lie in the beginning stages of the Munge river that flows all the way to lake magadi of Ngorongoro crater.
This is one of the most picturesque waterfalls inside the Ngorongoro Conservation area and one of the few that can be viewed from miles away.You will hike up the crater rim, explore the marsh near the falls, get a glimpse of the stunning waterfalls and then descend. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 15. Ngorongoro crater drive and transfer to Lake Manyara via Mto Wa Mbu village
Early risers are rewarded with breath-taking views of the rising sun over the crater’s edge and after a hearty breakfast, you will drive down the adventurous track into the crater. This UNESCO world heritage site, formed millions of years ago, is 610 m deep and covers roughly 260 square kilometres. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25 000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. In a matter of minutes, you will be able to see the wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elephants and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck, you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass.
After lunch you will be transferred to lake Manyara via Mto Wa Mbu village for an exclusive community visit. During your cultural visit, you will engage in village walks, visiting the local market seeing local art and craft work. You will experience the unique culture of the local community in Mto wa mbu town during this cultural visit. You will also be in position to see a number of amazing sceneries visits such as the rift valley escarpment.
Later continue to Lake Manyara National Park where you will have an evening game drive to see more of the animals in the park. You may also be in position to see the tree climbing lions. Then proceed to your lodge, check in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 16: Morning Game drive and transfer to Tarangire National Park
Today, you will wake up very early in the morning, have breakfast and drive through the game trails of Lake Manyara national park. If your lucky, you may see the tree climbing lions before you leave the park. You will also have a view of the thousands of bird species near the lake.
Later you will be transferred to Tarangire National Park, well known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle you will experience the seasonal swamps, savanna and Tarangire River in search of many animals including zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants and giraffes. It’s possible that you will catch a glimpse of a lion stalking its prey or leopards watching and relaxing in the trees above. Dinner and over night stay at your lodge.

Day 17. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International airport and fly to Zanzibar

Day 18: Stone town tour starting from Darajani Market
After breakfast, you will be given a short briefing by your tour guide about Zanzibar. You will then embark on your visit to the Darajani Market. This market is considered to be one of the main markets in Stone Town. Before entering the market, on the outside streets, it is often where some of the best actions take place. It is where visitors will find vendors selling all sorts of goods and interesting items.
Darajani Market was established in 1904 but later it was extended and restored.It is also known as Estella Market and was named after the countess Estella, the sister of Lloyd Mathews, the Prime Minister of Zanzibar. Some of the items that are sold in the market include fruits and vegetables, spices, meat, clothes, shoes, household items and many others.
After your visit to Darajani Market, you will have lunch and then proceed with the Stone Town Tour where you will visit some important sites such as the Freddie Mercury Museum.

Day 19. Prison Island Tour, Spice market tour and relaxation
After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for Prison Island with a traditional engine wooded dhow (if you will go out for snorkeling, please hire snorkeling gears from the boat man before leaving Stone town).
Prison Island was once intended to be used as a place for concealment of slaves during the slave trade in East & Central Africa. The Island sometimes served as the quarantine during the outbreak of contagious diseases such as cholera & yellow fever.
However, today the Island is a breading site for some rare species of Giant Aldabra tortoises which are a such wonderful site.
You may have lunch there (own account) before sailing back to Stone town for the spice market tour. This is one of the most popular excursions on the island. You will walk through the spice farm with your guide as you touch, smell and taste different spices and tropical fruits.
Later in the evening, you may go out for the Stone Town Night experience before having dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 20: Dolphin & Jozani Forest Tour Southeast of Stone Town
On this day after breakfast at your hotel as early as 06:00, you will depart for Dolphin tour at Kizimkazi & Jozani forest visit on the way back. Dolphin tour is conducted at Minai bay Marine reserve. Your guide will organize everything for you.
Swimming with dolphin & snorkeling at beautiful Minai bay Marine reserve is part of your program. Snorkeling gears are available at the starting point for those who will need them, mostly is mask & flippers (please talk to your Guide).
On your way back, you will visit the Jozani forest to see the endemic species of red colobus monkeys. After Jozani forest visit, you will drive back to Tembo House Hotel in Stone town for overnight.
